Mandatory Tamil signs across Chennai: TCC

Written By நெடுவாழி on Thursday, July 5, 2012 | 6:02 AM

Members of the Tamils cultural centre are hopeful to see mandatory Tamil sign as per Tamil Nadu rules on every single establishment across the Tamil capital, Chennai. Tamil Nadu follows a bi-lingual (Tamil and English) formula however signs in English, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi are gaining prominence in the city. The sign boards such as this one clearly violates the Government rule and this is a very common sight across Chennai and urban Tamil Nadu. The Tamils Cultural Centre members submitted their plea to the Mayor of Chennai Corporation in the last week of June. The members of TCC are expecting that a favourable order would be passed sometime in July 2012.
